Our wild Hokkaido deer skins are tanned using a Lacette tanning method—a 100% chromium-free, organic vegetable tannage of concentrated mimosa and acacia tree bark extracts. This process leaves the naturally open, porous collagen structure of wild deer completely intact, preserving its breathable elasticity.

wax finish

Once returned from the tannery, currying is completed at our base studio in Sapporo. We seal the porous dermal fibers, increase structural density, and eliminate oil migration. Each hide is individually hot-stuffed and hand-curried with our wax formulation, composed entirely of domestic Japanese ingredients:

TARExtracted from local, fallen birch trees via thermal extraction. Rich in natural phenolic compounds, it provides organic water resistance, anti-fungal protection, and the smoky aroma of traditional Russia leather.

WAXA dual-wax compound of local unrefined beeswax and pure Rice Bran Wax. Beeswax seals internal fats to prevent oil bleed, while Rice Bran Wax forms a high-temp crystalline layer for a dry, non-tacky hand-feel.

TALLOWRendered in-house from winter Ezo deer fat. A high-stearic animal lipid that deeply hydrates the open corium matrix, nourishing the internal collagen fibers to establish structural body and flex without surface oil bleed.
